What's that "Call Me" button?
It's Gizmo Project, and it's a VOIP software. VOIP means "Voice Over Internet Protocol". In layman's terms - talk like on the phone, but using the Internet. The advantage of this is that you talk for free, as long as the other side is talking to you on the PC too. If you want to call to normal telephones, you can too! They have a list of rates to various countries around the world, and it's really cheap! I talked to a friend of mine in Hong Kong through Gizmo Project for 90 mins (1 hour and a half), and paid only S$1.50 for the whole call! Can you beat these international calling rates with Singtel?
Gizmo is standards compliant. You can call any other SIP software or hardware phone by dialling the SIP number. You can even talk to people on the Jabber network too! With some more tweaking around, you can even IM your friends (text-only though) from Yahoo, MSN, ICQ, GoogleTalk and whatever gateways that are available on the Jabber network.
